Course Description
The goal of the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor Course is to provide the potential instructor candidate the ability to assist the student with:
Information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest
Information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children
The cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest.
Course Length: 8 hours
Course Cost: $300.00
Intended Audience
Pediatricians, house staff, emergency physicians, family physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who are responsible for the well-being of infants and children.

Card Type: Course completion
Written/Skills Exam: Required for completion card
1. A current AHA provider card for the course you wish to teach.
2. A letter of recommendation to be an instructor from an affiliate/regional or course faculty member (not required for BLS).
3. Letter from a Training Center Coordinator indicating that the TC will accept you as an instructor.
4. Willingness to teach the scientific and program guidelines of the American Heart Association.
5. Commitment to teach two courses per year according to AHA guidelines.
